This painting from years ago, is quite a poignant one now, again thanks to the destruction of Storm Eowyn. It was 2013, a balmy evening in June when myself and my daughters went on a lovely nature walk. My youngest had run ahead and I stood admiring the might of two particular trees that appeared to guard the path, arching high above me. Unfortunately, the storm of Jan ‘25 destroyed both trees and nothing is left, only the remains, with many rings that tell their aged story. Beyond, the area is treeless, a lonely landscape of boggy stumps.
