This was one of several paintings I did in that most peculiar of times. Times which profoundly affected almost every human on the planet; Covid. Deerpark forest in Virginia, became my daily beat where I could wallow in my thoughts while enjoying the permanent reality of nature. The somewhat foreboding sense of the dark figure reflected, I think, what many of us were feeling, the sense that we might never have normal human interaction again. Although that was thankfully not to be, this period did impact us in ways that we are still only coming to terms with now.
