The White horse of Benaughlin has become my inspiration for this last two years. Benaughlin or Binn Each Labhartha, the Peak of the Speaking Horse, tells of a legend whereby a mystical white horse from this Fermanagh mountain, would come down to the people on Bilberry Sunday and speak to the people, telling their fortunes. He became the centre of my world, the idea behind my animation and my just published children’s book, the Speaking Horse of Cuilcagh. In this story, the horse is the connection between legend and reality, bringing a young boy on an adventure where he meets the characters of the wonderful Cuilcagh region.  Here we see him, with the hill of his home, Benaughlin, rising above the mist.
